Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes is one of those DS games that sneaks up on you—it looks like a cute fantasy RPG at first, but then suddenly you're losing sleep over army formations and chain attacks. The combat's this weirdly satisfying mix of match-3 and tactical battles where positioning your archers just right feels as important as picking spells.
What really hooked me was how the puzzle layer changes everything. You're not just grinding levels; you're constantly rearranging colored units like some kind of medieval general playing Tetris with living soldiers. The story's got that classic fantasy vibe (elves, demons, the usual), but the combat system is what makes it stand out. I remember getting wrecked by the first real boss until I figured out how to time my knight charges properly.
Definitely one of the more inventive takes on turn-based strategy the DS ever got.
