Ultimate Mortal Kombat on DS is basically a pocket-sized version of the classic fighter, but don’t let the small screen fool you—it still packs a punch. You’ve got all the usual suspects like Scorpion and Sub-Zero, plus some deep-cut favorites, and pulling off fatalities with the stylus feels weirdly satisfying once you get the hang of it.
The controls take a minute to adjust to if you’re used to a full controller, but after a few matches, you’ll be landing combos like it’s second nature. The AI isn’t messing around either—expect some cheap shots from the CPU if you’re not careful. It’s not the prettiest MK game out there, but for a portable version, it gets the job done.
If you’re looking for a quick fighting fix on the go, this one’s worth a shot.
