Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on DS is basically a chaotic, button-mashing party disguised as sports. You pick your favorite character—I always go with Sonic because, well, speed—and then dive into events like 100m dashes, archery, or even dreamy fantasy versions where you’re swimming through rings or bouncing off trampolines. The controls are simple enough that anyone can jump in, but good luck not yelling at your DS during the hammer throw when you accidentally spin the wrong way.
What’s fun is seeing Mario characters like Bowser trying to pole vault or Sonic awkwardly doing gymnastics. The multiplayer’s where it really shines though—nothing like destroying your friend in table tennis with a well-timed Luigi backhand. It’s not super deep, but it’s a solid pick if you want something quick and ridiculous to play with others.
