Wizardry: Knights of Diamonds is one of those old-school NES dungeon crawlers that doesn’t hold your hand—at all. You start by rolling up a party of four (fighters, mages, clerics, thieves—good luck balancing that), then dive straight into a maze that’s basically a death trap. The first floor seems manageable until you realize half your spells fizzle and that "harmless" slime just wiped your frontliner.

It’s brutal, but weirdly satisfying when you finally scrape together enough gold to upgrade your gear or level up a spellcaster. The deeper you go, the more the game throws at you—secret doors, teleporters that dump you into monster pits, and bosses that feel impossible until you backtrack to grind a little. The pixel art’s simple, but there’s something about the way the torches flicker in the dungeon that still gives it a creepy vibe.

Just don’t expect a happy ending if you screw up. Llylgamyn’s counting on you, and this game loves to punish careless heroes.
