Batman 3 on NES is one of those games that looks simple at first—just another side-scrolling beat 'em up—but man, it’s got some weird charm. You start off punching thugs in a neon-lit Gotham alley, and within minutes you’re dodging ridiculous enemy spawns and trying not to get cornered. The controls are a little stiff, but once you get used to it, there’s something satisfying about landing a well-timed batarang.

It’s not the deepest Batman game out there, but the sprite work is surprisingly crisp for an NES title, and the music’s got that classic 8-bit energy. Just don’t expect Arkham-level storytelling—this is pure, cheesy comic book action. If you’re into retro beat ‘em ups, it’s a fun little time capsule.
