Captain America and the Avengers for the NES is one of those classic beat 'em ups that feels like it was made for couch co-op. You pick from Cap, Iron Man, Vision, or Hawkeye—each with their own quirks—and just start punching through waves of robots and goons. The controls are simple, but some characters definitely feel better than others (Hawkeye’s arrows are weirdly satisfying, though).
It’s got that arcade-y vibe where enemies just keep coming at you, and the levels throw in some flying sections to mix things up. The graphics are pretty basic, even for the NES, but there’s something charming about how blocky Cap’s shield looks when you throw it. Definitely a nostalgia trip if you played it back in the day.
Just don’t expect the deep combat of later brawlers—this one’s all about mindless fun with a buddy.
