Man, Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition on SNES still hits different. That first time you boot it up and hear the announcer yell "FIGHT!"—instant nostalgia. The controls are tight, the sprites are chunky in the best way, and pulling off a dragon punch feels just as good as it did in the arcade.
What I love is how each character actually plays differently. Chun-Li’s lightning kicks, Guile’s cheesy sonic boom spam, Dhalsim’s weird stretchy limbs—you’ll probably main one fighter for weeks before realizing how deep their movesets go. And good luck not throwing your controller when your buddy picks Zangief and keeps suplexing you into next Tuesday.
It’s not just button mashing either. Timing matters, spacing matters, and that one friend who insists they "don’t know combos" will suddenly bust out a perfect shoryuken when you’re at match point. This version’s the sweet spot before the series got too complicated—just pure, polished fighting chaos.
Still the king of couch multiplayer meltdowns after all these years.
