Man, X-Men Vs. Street Fighter on SNES is pure 90s arcade chaos—in the best way. You pick two characters (good luck choosing between Wolverine’s claws and Ryu’s Hadoukens), then it’s just non-stop tag-team brawling. The sprites are chunky, the special moves flash like fireworks, and half the fun is seeing how Cyclops’ optic blast interacts with Dhalsim’s stretchy limbs.
It’s not the most balanced fighter—some characters feel way overpowered—but who cares when you’re landing a ridiculous combo with Storm and Chun-Li back-to-back? The controls take a minute to get used to if you’re coming from modern fighters, but once you nail that double-tap dash, it clicks. Just don’t expect the deep mechanics of later Capcom games; this one’s all about spectacle and nostalgia.
Still holds up if you’re into pixel-art brawlers with attitude. Just maybe don’t play it with a friend who mains Akuma.
