Street Fighter 2 - The New Challengers is the SNES version of the arcade classic that basically defined fighting games. You’ve got the same tight controls and combos, but now with four new characters—Dee Jay’s annoying laugh, T. Hawk’s ridiculous grabs, Cammy’s speed, and Fei Long’s Bruce Lee kicks. The AI still cheats sometimes, but pulling off a perfect Hadouken feels just as good as it did in the arcade.
Sprites are crisp, the music slaps, and if you’ve got a buddy to play with, it’s pure chaos. Just don’t pick Zangief unless you really know what you’re doing—those spinning pile drivers take practice. Still one of the best ways to settle who buys the next round of drinks.
