Street Fighter Zero 2 on SNES is one of those games that just feels right—like slipping into a pair of well-worn sneakers. The pixel art still holds up, especially Chun-Li’s spinning bird kick or Bison’s psycho crusher tearing across the screen. It’s got that classic arcade vibe but with smoother controls than the earlier SF games.
What I love is how each character actually plays different—none of that "reskinned movesets" nonsense. Ryu’s fireballs feel weighty, Charlie’s got those tricky air combos, and good luck trying to zone out a decent Sagat player. First time I played, I got wrecked by the CPU on normal difficulty, which… yeah, that tracks for a ‘90s fighter.
Perfect for quick matches when you’ve got 20 minutes to kill, or if you’re masochistic enough to grind for the secret boss. Still holds up as one of the best fighters on the system.
