Might and Magic: Gates to Another World is that classic Genesis RPG where you're still cleaning up the mess from the first game—turns out letting the bad guy escape wasn't the best call. Now he's back and seriously cranky, ready to wreck the world of CRON unless your party stops him.
You start off with a mix of warriors, mages, and weird hybrid classes (ever tried a ninja who also casts spells? It's as chaotic as it sounds). The first hour is all about stumbling through dark dungeons, getting ambushed by monsters that pop out of nowhere, and realizing you should've packed more healing potions. The combat's grid-based, so positioning actually matters—unlike some RPGs where you just mash attack.
It's got that old-school charm where you'll scribble notes on graph paper to map dungeons, and the spell system makes you actually think before burning mana. Not gonna lie, some of the puzzles are brutal, but figuring them out feels legit satisfying. If you're into deep, unforgiving '90s RPGs, this one's a time capsule worth revisiting.
