Superman on the Genesis is one of those weird, janky 16-bit superhero games that somehow sticks with you. You start off flying around Metropolis—which looks decent for the time—but then it throws these awkward side-scrolling brawler sections at you. The controls feel a little stiff, especially when you're trying to land punches on random thugs.

What’s funny is how they tried to cram in all these powers—heat vision, freeze breath—but half the time you’re just mashing buttons hoping something works. And yeah, Lex Luthor shows up, but the boss fights are kinda forgettable. Still, there’s something charming about the pixelated Superman sprite just hovering awkwardly over buildings.

If you’re into retro games with rough edges, this one’s a weird little time capsule.
