Oh man, The Adventures of Mighty Max takes me back. You start off as this tiny kid in a baseball cap who somehow gets tossed into these wild, trap-filled levels that feel way bigger than they should be. The first thing you notice? Those weird little hopping enemies that look like potatoes with legs—they're everywhere, and they bounce just awkwardly enough to mess up your jumps.
It's got that classic Genesis platformer feel where you're constantly figuring out where to go next, squeezing through tight spots or backtracking when you realize you missed a key. Some of the later levels get seriously mean with the traps—one wrong step and you're falling through fake floors or getting squished by moving blocks. But when you finally nail that tricky jump or solve a puzzle after five tries, it feels so good.
What really sticks with me is the music—those crunchy Genesis synths that somehow make running through a cave or dodging spikes way more intense than it needs to be. If you grew up with 16-bit platformers, this one's got that perfect mix of frustration and nostalgia.
