Spider-Man: Edge of Time on DS is one of those weird little handheld adaptations that actually does its own thing instead of just copying the console version. You're swapping between classic Spidey and the futuristic "Amazing" version, fixing timeline disasters before they wreck everything. The combat's simple but satisfying—you'll be juggling thugs with web shots and counters while the tiny screen somehow makes New York feel bigger than it should.
What surprised me was how much they squeezed into this cart. There's actual voice acting (though it gets a bit compressed), and the time-shifting mechanic means you're constantly seeing how your actions in one era mess with the other. Some of the platforming gets janky with the DS controls, but nailing a perfect swing between skyscrapers still feels great. Just don't expect the open world—this is more of a tight, story-driven brawler with some clever time puzzles.
It's not the deepest Spidey game out there, but for a DS title, it punches above its weight.
