Alright, so Megaman Battle Network 6: Zieldak's Patch—if you've played any of the earlier games, you know the drill: Lan and Megaman.EXE are back, diving into cyberspace, busting viruses, and getting tangled in some wild net-based conspiracy. But this one? It’s got a few tweaks that actually make a difference.
First off, the new Cross System changes up how you build Megaman—you pick a Beast Out form early on, and it totally shifts your playstyle. I went with the electric one first, which was a mistake because everything resists that later. (Go for fire or sword if you want an easier time.) The battles are still that perfect mix of real-time and strategy—dodging attacks while frantically scrolling through your chip folder for the right counter.
And yeah, the story’s cheesy in that classic Battle Network way—evil orgs, rogue AIs, Lan’s friends being weirdly invested in net battles—but it’s got heart. The pixel art’s crisp, the music slaps, and there’s something satisfying about grinding for rare chips just to absolutely wreck the post-game bosses. If you’ve got a GBA or an emulator lying around, this one’s worth the nostalgia trip.
