Okay, so MegaMan Battle Chip Challenge is this weird little GBA spinoff where you don’t actually control MegaMan.EXE directly—instead, you build a deck of battle chips and let the AI duke it out in auto-battles. At first, I was skeptical (where’s the action?), but there’s something weirdly addictive about tweaking your chip combos and watching fights play out like some chaotic robot poker match.
You’ve got all the usual NetNavis from the BN series—Lan, Chaud, Dex—but the real fun comes from unlocking rare chips and figuring out which ones actually synergize. Pro tip: don’t sleep on the recovery chips early on, because some of these random encounters hit hard. The spritework’s still crisp, though, and that classic Battle Network soundtrack slaps as always.
It’s definitely not as deep as the mainline games, but if you’re into deck-builders or just want more of that PET-era vibe, it’s a neat time capsule.
