Okay, so Megaman Battle Chip Challenge on GBA is basically what happens if you take the Battle Network series and turn it into a weird, kinda janky but weirdly satisfying card battler. You don’t control your Navi directly—instead, you build a deck of battle chips and watch them auto-battle while you frantically swap in better chips mid-fight. It sounds boring, but there’s something oddly tense about it.
At first, I hated that I couldn’t just slash through viruses like in the main games, but after a few matches, I got weirdly into optimizing my chip combos. The game throws a ton of chips at you early on (some useless, some broken), and figuring out which ones actually work together is half the fun. Pro tip: don’t sleep on the recovery chips—you’ll need ‘em when some punk Navi spams area attacks.
It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you like tweaking builds and watching chaos unfold, this one’s a neat little time-waster. Just don’t expect it to play like a normal Megaman game.
