MegaMan Battle Network 2 is one of those rare sequels that actually nails it. The first game was fun but rough around the edges—this one tightens up the combat, throws in way more chips to mess with, and somehow makes the net-battling even more addictive. You still play as Lan and MegaMan, jacking into the internet to fight viruses, but now there’s this shady new group called Gospel causing chaos. The pixel art pops, the music slaps, and the story’s got way more going on than you’d expect from a GBA game.
First 10 minutes? You’re already diving into net battles, scrambling to build a decent folder of chips (good luck not obsessing over your setup), and getting pulled into some wild conspiracy. The customization here is ridiculous—you can tweak MegaMan’s abilities so much it’s almost overwhelming at first. But once it clicks, you’ll be hunting down rare chips just to try stupid combos. It’s the kind of game where you tell yourself “one more battle” and suddenly it’s 2 AM.
If you liked the first one, this is basically that but better in every way. If you didn’t, well… it might change your mind.
