Dahna Megami Tanjou is one of those weird, obscure Genesis JRPGs that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this odd charm to it. You start off in this fantasy world where gods and humans are tangled up in some messy conflict, and right away, the sprite work and music give off that classic '90s Sega vibe.
Combat’s turn-based but with a twist—your party formation actually matters, and positioning can make or break a fight. Took me a couple battles to realize my healer kept dying because I stuck them in the front row. Oops. The story’s got that old-school melodrama, complete with dramatic pauses and overly serious dialogue, but hey, that’s part of the fun.
If you’re into digging up forgotten RPGs, this one’s worth a look—just don’t expect a polished Final Fantasy clone. It’s rough around the edges, but there’s something oddly satisfying about figuring out its quirks.
