Rainbow Six on N64 is one of those games that makes you feel like an actual SWAT commander—if SWAT commanders had to deal with blocky N64 graphics and slightly janky controls. You plan out every move before the mission starts, assigning waypoints and breaching points to your squad, then pray they don’t walk into a hail of bullets when you hit go.
The tension is real, though. One wrong move, and suddenly your whole team’s down because you forgot to check a corner. It’s slower than most shooters from that era, but that’s the point—you’re not some lone wolf running and gunning. You’re coordinating a squad, and messing up means reloading (a lot).
If you can get past the dated visuals, there’s still something satisfying about nailing a perfectly executed hostage rescue. Just don’t expect it to go smoothly the first time.
