Command & Conquer on the N64 is one of those weird, ambitious ports that somehow works—if you can get past the controller. Yeah, using a D-pad for an RTS feels like trying to eat soup with a fork at first, but after a few skirmishes, you start nailing those quick unit selections. The core game’s all here: harvesting Tiberium, spamming Mammoth Tanks, and that cheesy-but-charming FMV story with live-action cutscenes. It’s janky in that late-‘90s console-RTS way, but there’s something satisfying about pulling off a sneaky airstrike while your buddy’s still fumbling with the build menu. Just don’t expect PC-level precision.
Honestly, half the fun is laughing at how they crammed a keyboard-and-mouse game onto a cartridge. Still holds up if you’re nostalgic for pixelated commandos and Nod’s ridiculous propaganda.
