Mario and Sonic finally go head-to-head in this DS Olympics mashup, and it’s way more chaotic than you’d expect. One minute you’re frantically swiping the touchscreen to sprint as Sonic, the next you’re trying not to faceplant in the triple jump as Bowser (which, honestly, feels wrong).

Some events totally nail the DS’s gimmicks—table tennis actually works great with the stylus—while others, like archery, make you wonder if your screen’s broken. The roster’s stacked with weird picks (Tails in fencing? Really?), but that’s half the fun. Local multiplayer’s where it shines, especially when you convince your friend that yes, shaking the DS violently is the correct way to swim faster.

It’s janky in places, but there’s something hilarious about watching Waluigi attempt gymnastics.
