Pokémon Black and White 2 is basically the polished-up version of the original Unova games—same region, but way more to do. You start off in a new town this time, and right away, there are little changes everywhere: new areas to explore, returning Pokémon from older gens mixed in with the Unova dex, and even some familiar faces from the first games popping up.

The battles feel snappier, and the gym leaders actually rematch you post-game, which is great if you’re into grinding your team to perfection. Also, the Pokémon World Tournament is a killer addition—imagine battling past gym leaders and champions with updated teams. It’s brutal but so satisfying when you finally take them down.

If you liked Black and White, this one just gives you more reasons to stick around. The story’s not as heavy as the first, but the gameplay tweaks make up for it.
