Inside Bowser, you’re jumping on floating guts (gross, but funny), solving puzzles, and fighting weird bacteria enemies. Meanwhile, outside, Bowser’s just wrecking everything in his path, breathing fire and punching castles. The back-and-forth keeps things from getting stale, and the writing’s full of that goofy Mario humor.

Combat’s turn-based but with timed button presses to dodge or counter—mess up, and you’ll watch Luigi faceplant while Mario sighs at him. The RPG stuff’s light enough that you don’t get bogged down, but there’s still gear and stats to tweak if you care. Honestly, it’s one of those DS games that just oozes charm.
