Mario Hoops 3 on 3 is basically what happens when you take NBA Street and toss in a bunch of Mushroom Kingdom weirdness. You pick three characters—Mario, Bowser, even weird picks like Ninja or White Mage—and suddenly you're pulling off alley-oops with fireballs or banking shots off a giant banana peel. The controls take a second to click (that touchscreen dribble move still trips me up sometimes), but once you get the rhythm, it's pure chaos in the best way.

Special shots are where it really shines—each character has their own ridiculous super move, like Donkey Kong slamming the ball so hard it leaves a crater. And yeah, the power-ups are exactly as unfair as you'd expect from a Mario sports game. If you've got a DS and even a passing interest in basketball, this one's a blast with friends. Just don't expect anything resembling real sports logic.
