Okay, so Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine on Game Boy Color is basically a pocket-sized adventure that feels like stepping into one of the movies—just with way more pixelated snakes. You start off in some dusty ruins (of course), swinging over pits with your whip and dodging spike traps that come out of nowhere. The controls take a second to get used to—tapping buttons to swing feels a little stiff at first, but once you get the rhythm, it’s weirdly satisfying.
What surprised me is how much they crammed into this tiny cart. There are actual puzzles—like moving blocks to open doors or deciphering symbols—and some enemies actually require strategy instead of just mashing buttons. The levels jump from jungles to temples, and yeah, the graphics are obviously limited, but they nailed Indy’s vibe with those little cutscenes and that classic theme sneaking into the soundtrack.
It’s not perfect—sometimes the camera angles make jumps feel like guesswork, and the combat’s clunky—but if you’re into old-school adventure games, this one’s a solid way to kill time between classes or bus rides. Just keep your expectations in check for a GBC title, and you’ll have fun cracking whips and stealing artifacts like a tiny, pixelated archaeologist.
