Pokémon Silver Advance Adventure is one of those weird, unofficial GBC hacks that mashes up Silver with some FireRed/LeafGreen elements—so you get Johto but with a few Kanto Pokémon popping up early. The starter choices are different (Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle, classic), and wild encounters feel shuffled in a way that keeps you guessing. I picked Charmander and immediately regretted it when the first gym leader whipped out a Geodude.

It’s still very much Silver at its core—same sprites, same music—but with enough tweaks to make it feel like a fresh-ish playthrough if you’ve burned through the original a dozen times. Some of the dialogue is janky (translation hiccups, probably), but hey, it’s free nostalgia with a twist. Just don’t expect it to replace your legit copy.
