Dementium II is one of those rare DS games that actually pulls off first-person horror without feeling clunky. You wake up in this creepy hospital with no idea what’s going on—just a flashlight, a few bullets, and some seriously messed-up creatures lurking in the dark. The atmosphere is thick, like you can almost smell the antiseptic and blood.
At first, you’re just trying to survive, but then the hallucinations start. One minute you’re solving a puzzle, the next you’re questioning whether that door was always there. The sound design does most of the heavy lifting—whispers, distant screams, things skittering just out of sight. And yeah, the combat’s a little rough (it’s the DS, after all), but that just makes every encounter more desperate.
If you liked the original or just want a horror game that actually gets under your skin, this one’s worth the nightmares.
