Okay, so Tower of Druaga looks simple at first—just another NES dungeon crawler—but don’t let that fool you. You start at the bottom of this massive tower, sword in hand, and every floor’s a maze packed with monsters that respawn if you leave the room. The trick? Finding hidden items (some are invisible until you step on the right tile) to actually stand a chance against the later bosses.
It’s brutal in that old-school way where you’ll die a lot before figuring out patterns, and the Japanese version’s even harder than the US release. But there’s something weirdly satisfying about slowly mapping out each floor, hunting for that one key or shield you missed. Just don’t expect to rescue the princess on your first try—or your tenth.
This is one of those games where you either love the grind or walk away frustrated.
