Okay, so Tomb Raider: Underworld on DS is basically Lara Croft crammed into a tiny cartridge—and honestly, it works better than you’d think. You’re jumping across crumbling ruins, solving those classic block-pushing puzzles (why are there always so many blocks?), and occasionally shooting wolves because… well, video games.
The controls take a second to get used to—stylus for some actions, buttons for others—but once it clicks, swinging around with Lara’s grapple hook feels weirdly satisfying. The tombs look great for a DS game, all shadowy and atmospheric, though you’ll definitely get stuck staring at a wall for 10 minutes before spotting the switch hidden behind a pillar.
It’s not as deep as the console versions, but for a portable adventure, it nails that Tomb Raider vibe. Just don’t expect to come out of it without a few “how was I supposed to know that?!” moments.
