Street Fighter 2010 is one of those weird NES gems that starts with "Wait, this is a Street Fighter game?" Ken’s gone full sci-fi bounty hunter here—his partner gets murdered, and suddenly he’s jumping between planets hunting down cyber-enhanced killers. The controls take a second to click (you’ve got this weird double-jump and wall-kick thing going on), but once they do, it’s oddly satisfying to flip around levels blasting enemies with energy shots.
The stages get brutal fast—some of those platforming sections feel like they were designed by someone who hates joy—but nailing a perfect run where you chain jumps and attacks without touching the ground? That’s the good stuff. Also, the soundtrack slaps way harder than it has any right to.
If you’re into janky-but-cool NES action with a side of "what were they thinking?", this one’s worth a shot. Just don’t expect anything like the usual Street Fighter brawls.
