Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers is the version where Capcom finally gave us some fresh blood—four new fighters to throw into the mix. Dee Jay’s constant grinning while kicking your face in, T. Hawk’s ridiculous pile drivers, Cammy’s lightning-fast combos, and Fei Long basically being Bruce Lee with fire kicks. The sprites got a polish too, colors pop more, and the soundtrack hits harder.

They tweaked the balance so certain characters (looking at you, Guile) aren’t completely busted anymore. Still feels like classic Street Fighter, just… better. If you’ve played the older versions, you’ll notice the little upgrades right away. This is the one I kept coming back to on my Genesis.
