Man, Sonic Rush on the DS still feels like one of the best ways to capture that classic "gotta go fast" energy. The levels are built for pure momentum—you’re boosting off ramps, grinding rails, and barely skimming past spikes while the top screen shows Tails (or Blaze, if you’re playing her side) doing their own wild stunts in the background. The touchscreen gimmicks are light, mostly just for special moves, so it doesn’t slow things down.
What really sticks with me is the soundtrack—those crunchy, upbeat tracks from Hideki Naganuma (of Jet Set Radio fame) somehow make running through loops and corkscrews even more hype. And yeah, the later levels get brutal if you’re trying to S-rank everything, but nailing a perfect run feels incredible. Definitely a DS highlight if you like your platformers with zero brakes.
