Ryuuko No Ken—or Art of Fighting, if you're not playing the Japanese version—is one of those early SNK fighters that feels a little rough around the edges now, but man, those sprites were huge for the time. Like, characters take up half the screen, and their faces get all busted up as you land hits. Kinda brutal.
It’s got this weird tension where you’re constantly watching your super meter, trying not to burn it all on one desperate special move. The AI cheats like crazy, too—good luck beating Ryo’s dad without throwing your controller. Still, there’s something charming about how janky and dramatic it all is.
If you’re into retro fighters, it’s a neat time capsule, but don’t expect it to play like Street Fighter.
