If you've ever wanted to feel like a kid hunched over a GBA again, Megaman Battle Network 6: Cybeast Falzar nails that mix of grid-based strategy and RPG nostalgia. You start off jacking into the net as MegaMan.EXE—same familiar deck-building combat, but this time there’s this whole beast-out mechanic where you temporarily fuse with Falzar and just wreck viruses with overpowered attacks. Feels so good when you time it right.
The story’s got that classic Battle Network cheese (evil organizations, digital disasters, Lan being Lan), but the new Cross System keeps battles interesting. Instead of just sticking to one style, you can mix and match abilities mid-fight. First time I tried a Tengu Cross with a grounded enemy? Yeah, that didn’t go well. But once you get the hang of it, pulling off combos is stupidly satisfying.
Also, the post-game’s got way more meat than I expected—secret chips, hidden bosses, the usual. Just don’t expect the internet to help much; half the guides out there are from 2005 and written in broken English. You’ll figure it out, though. This one’s worth dusting off the old SP for.
