MegaMan Battle Network 2 is one of those GBA gems that still holds up. You play as Lan and his NetNavi, MegaMan, diving into a mix of real-world exploration and grid-based battles. The combat’s this weird hybrid of turn-based and real-time—you’re dodging attacks while lining up your own chips to fire off. At first, it feels chaotic, but once you get the rhythm, pulling off combos is stupidly satisfying.
The story’s got that classic early-2000s anime vibe—cyber terrorists, mysterious viruses, and a kid with a talking dog (because why not?). The net areas are fun to explore, though some of the puzzles can be a little cryptic. And yeah, the random encounters get old fast, but the boss fights more than make up for it.
If you’re into retro RPGs with a twist, this one’s still a blast to revisit. Just don’t blame me when you lose track of time hunting for rare battle chips.
