Play Legend Of Kage, The Online

I first played The Legend of Kage on the Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1986. It was a Taito release, one of those many action games that filled the NES library in its early years. The game had a simple premise, typical for the time, where you were thrown into a side scrolling world with a clear, immediate goal.

You control a young ninja named Kage, and your mission is to rescue the princess Kiri, who has been kidnapped. The game plays out across forest and castle stages, moving screen by screen. Your main actions are jumping between treetops, slashing with a short sword, and throwing a limited supply of shuriken. The pacing is relentless; enemies spawn constantly from both sides, and the screen auto scrolls, forcing you to keep moving. It is a difficult game, where timing your attacks and jumps is essential for survival. Playing it feels like a frantic, non stop scramble from one end of the level to the other.
