Fossil Fighters: Champions is basically Pokémon meets archaeology—but with way more dirt under your nails. You start off digging up fossils (some are easy finds, others take forever to spot), then carefully clean them up in this weirdly satisfying mini-game where you chip away rock without damaging the bone. Screw that up, and your vivosaur comes out weaker, which… yeah, I learned that the hard way.
The battles are turn-based but with a twist—positioning matters, and some attacks only work up close or from afar. My first team was a mess (why did I think three long-range dinos was a good idea?), but once you get the hang of synergies, it clicks. Also, the designs? Some vivosaurs look like they walked out of a metal album cover, and I’m here for it.
It’s got that classic DS charm—simple but addictive, with just enough strategy to keep you tweaking your team between fights. If you ever wasted hours on fossil exhibits as a kid, this’ll hit that same weirdly specific itch.
