Dementium - The Ward is one of those rare DS games that actually manages to be creepy as hell. You wake up in this run-down asylum with nothing but a flashlight, and right away something feels off—the way the shadows move, the distant screams, those weird fleshy growths on the walls. The dual-screen setup works surprisingly well for horror—you’re constantly checking the map on the bottom screen while some nightmare fuel shambles toward you up top.
Combat’s clunky in that early survival horror way (good luck lining up shots with the stylus), but that just adds to the panic when you’re cornered by… whatever those things are. And the sound design? Absolute chills. Headphones recommended, unless you enjoy jumping at 2 AM when a door creaks open by itself. Just don’t expect answers right away—this place loves its cryptic notes and "wait, WHAT?" plot twists.
Still one of the best horror experiences on the DS, warts and all.
