Vixen 357 is one of those old-school Sega Genesis strategy games that feels like a mix between a mech battler and a chess match—but with way more explosions. You start off picking your squad from a roster of pilots, each with their own quirks, and then it’s straight into grid-based combat against alien forces. The first few missions ease you in, but don’t get too comfortable—those aliens adapt fast.
What I love is how weighty the mechs feel. When you move a unit, you can practically hear the metal creaking under the strain. Upgrading weapons is a must, but you’ve gotta be smart about it—some guns hit hard but leave you wide open if you miss. And yeah, the Chinese version plays just like the original, just with some extra text flair if you’re into that.
It’s not the flashiest game out there, but if you dig tactical depth and that classic 16-bit vibe, this one’s a solid time capsule. Just don’t blame me when you lose track of time trying to outmaneuver that one brutal boss fight.
