Toon Panic is one of those weird, lost N64 prototypes that never got a full release—which is a shame, because it’s got this chaotic energy I haven’t seen in many cartoony action games from that era. You’re dropped into these bright, almost rubber-hose-animation-style levels where everything’s bouncing around, and half the challenge is just keeping track of what’s coming at you.
The controls take a second to click—you’ve got this weird mix of platforming and almost fighting-game-like combos—but once it does, pulling off ridiculous over-the-top moves while dodging falling anvils and exploding pies feels surprisingly good. It’s janky in that classic N64 way, but in a charming, "they were onto something here" kind of jank. Definitely worth a look if you’re into obscure retro stuff with personality.
