About The Legend Of Zelda - Puzzledude's Quest
I first played The Legend of Zelda: PuzzleDude's Quest on a Super Nintendo Entertainment System emulator back in 2012. It was a fan made release, developed by PuzzleDude, that appeared long after the SNES's commercial life had ended. For anyone who grew up with that console, it felt like discovering a new, previously unreleased cartridge, a straightforward addition to the library from that era.
You control Link, moving him screen by screen through an overworld and into dungeons. The main goal is to explore these dungeons, solve their environmental puzzles, and collect the scattered Triforce pieces. Your primary actions involve pushing blocks to open paths and using your sword to defeat enemies that block your progress. The game emphasizes careful exploration over frantic action; you often need to study a room's layout before making a move. Its difficulty comes from figuring out the logical sequence for each puzzle rather than testing your reflexes. Playing it feels like working through a series of interconnected, satisfying brain teasers.
