Alright, so TMNT: Arcade Attack on DS is basically a love letter to old-school beat 'em ups, but with that handheld charm. You pick your turtle (Leo’s my go-to, but Donnie’s bo staff has reach), and then it’s just non-stop smashing through waves of Foot Clan goons. The levels feel straight out of the arcade era—sewers, rooftops, the usual—but with some sneaky platforming bits that keep you on your toes.
Boss fights are where it shines, though. You’ll recognize a few classic TMNT villains, and they actually make you think instead of just button-mashing. Pro tip: save your special moves for these fights unless you wanna get wrecked. The pixel art’s crisp, and the music nails that retro vibe without sounding like a MIDI file from 1995. It’s not perfect (the camera can be a little wonky in tight spaces), but if you’re craving a portable beat ‘em up that doesn’t overcomplicate things, this one’s a solid pick.
