Tamagotchi 64 is basically what happens when you take those little egg-shaped virtual pets from the '90s and blow them up into full 3D on the N64. You still feed them, clean up after them, and try not to let them die (which, let’s be real, still happens way too fast). But now you’re doing it in this weirdly charming blocky world where your Tamagotchi waddles around like a tiny drunk roommate.
The personalities are surprisingly distinct—some are needy little gremlins, others just vibe on their own. I accidentally let my first one starve because I got distracted by the mini-games (whoops). The evolution paths are kinda unpredictable too—turns out feeding them nothing but cake makes them… not great at life.
It’s janky in that very N64 way, but if you ever mashed buttons to keep a pixel pet alive, this is that same weirdly satisfying panic in 3D. Just maybe don’t get too attached.
