Super Star Wars on SNES throws you right into the action—you start as Luke blasting stormtroopers in Tatooine’s canyons, and before long you’re hopping between speeder bikes and dodging Sand People. The controls feel a little stiff at first (those double jumps take some getting used to), but once you get the hang of it, the blaster upgrades and lightsaber combat make you feel like a proper Jedi-in-training.
Some levels switch things up with vehicle sections—the Death Star trench run is way harder than you’d expect, but nailing that perfect shot on the exhaust port is stupidly satisfying. The pixel art holds up surprisingly well, especially the explosions and those iconic Star Wars cutscenes squeezed into 16-bit. Just don’t expect an easy ride—this game’s got that classic ‘90s difficulty spike.
