Super Star Wars on SNES is basically the original movie turned into a chaotic side-scrolling rampage. You start off as Luke blasting stormtroopers on Tatooine, then suddenly you're in an X-Wing dodging tie fighters—it doesn’t let up. The platforming’s tough (those sandcrawler jumps still haunt me), but nailing a perfect lightsaber swing on a squad of troopers feels amazing.
Weirdly, the vehicle sections are the highlight—the speeder bike chase and Death Star trench run actually capture the movie’s energy better than some modern Star Wars games. Just don’t expect mercy from the bosses; Boba Fett will wreck you if you don’t memorize his patterns.
It’s janky in that classic 16-bit way, but the pixel art and John Williams-esque soundtrack make it feel like a lost LucasArts arcade cabinet. If you grew up with the OT, this is pure nostalgia with blasters.
