About Super Star Wars (beta)
Super Star Wars came out for the Super Nintendo in 1992, developed by LucasArts and Sculptured Software. It was one of the earlier attempts to bring the Star Wars universe to the 16-bit console, arriving at a time when the SNES library was starting to fill out with more ambitious action games.
You control Luke Skywalker through a series of side-scrolling levels, with the main goal being to rescue Princess Leia and destroy the Death Star. The gameplay mixes running and jumping across platforms with blaster combat against Stormtroopers and Tusken Raiders. You also pilot his landspeeder and an X-wing in separate vehicle stages that break up the platforming. The game is known for its high difficulty, demanding precise jumps and quick reflexes to survive the constant enemy fire. Playing it feels like a relentless test of your timing and patience.
