About Super Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back (europe) (beta)
Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Sculptured Software and published by LucasArts. It was part of a wave of action games that tried to capture the feel of a movie on the 16-bit console, putting you right into the snowy battle of Hoth and beyond.
You control Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Chewbacca across different stages, running, jumping, and blasting through Imperial forces. Your main goal is to survive the Empire's onslaught and complete key story events, like the defense of Echo Base and the duel with Darth Vader. The gameplay mixes side-scrolling platforming with vehicle sections, such as piloting a snowspeeder to trip AT-AT walkers. You also switch between characters, each with their own weapon, and collect power-ups to improve your blaster's strength. The game moves at a fast pace and is known for its high difficulty, demanding quick reflexes and precise jumps. Playing it feels like a constant, frantic scramble against overwhelming odds.
