Super Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back (europe) (beta) Game
📅 1993 ✍️ LucasArts, Sculptured Software

Super Empire Strikes Back is one of those SNES games that makes you feel like you're actually in the movie—except with way more blaster fire and awkward platforming. You start off as Luke on Hoth, jumping over ice pits and taking down AT-ATs with your snowspeeder’s tow cable (which is way harder than it looks). The pixel art still holds up, especially the way the snow crunches underfoot and how Vader’s cape billows in the Bespin corridors.
It’s got that classic 90s difficulty spike—some sections feel brutal until you memorize the enemy patterns. Switching between Luke, Han, and Chewie keeps things interesting, though I always wished Leia was playable. The music? Pure nostalgia, with those chiptune renditions of the Imperial March hitting just right.
If you’re into retro Star Wars or just love punishing platformers, this one’s a time capsule worth revisiting.
