Super Dodge Ball Advance is that perfect mix of ridiculous and competitive—like if dodgeball got turned into an arcade fighter. You start off with these tiny sprites running around, but the second someone hurls a ball at Mach 5, it clicks: this isn’t gym class. Matches get wild fast—special throws send opponents flying off-screen, and the AI doesn’t hold back. I lost my first three games before realizing you can actually curve shots by holding directions mid-throw.
The teams all have weird little quirks too. The ninjas are quick but fragile, the robots tank hits but move like bricks. And that one team with the clown? Annoying as hell. The pixel art holds up surprisingly well, especially when someone gets knocked out and does that exaggerated backflip into oblivion. It’s the kind of game where you mean to play "just one match" and suddenly it’s been 45 minutes.
If you’ve got a GBA and even a vague interest in chaotic sports games, this one’s a no-brainer.
