Okay, so if you grew up watching Avatar: The Last Airbender, this GBA game is basically a nostalgia trip with some janky but fun combat. You start off as Aang, running around doing basic airbending moves—nothing too fancy, but it feels satisfying when you knock a Fire Nation soldier off a ledge. Eventually, you get Katara and Sokka in your party, and switching between them actually matters—Katara’s water whips are way better for ranged fights, while Sokka just bonks people with his boomerang.

The sprites are surprisingly decent for a GBA title, and the music nails that Avatar vibe. Some of the platforming bits can be a little frustrating (why does Aang, the literal airbender, have such a weird jump arc?), but the bending mechanics make up for it. Fire Nation troops swarm you in groups, so you’ve gotta mix up attacks or you’ll get overwhelmed fast.

It’s not the deepest RPG out there, but if you’re into the show, it’s a solid little side adventure. Just don’t expect anything as polished as the later console games.
